Scanning issue

I just finished manually programming my new BaoFeng BF-F9 V2N. Now when I hold scan in the frequency mode, nothing happens. There is an S just over the end of the A channel frequency ID. The S is there in both frequency, and channel mode. It appears to mean skip although I did not key this option. Would there be a way to disable this mode manually. I do not yet have the program cable.
